This is MY brioche cowl

My goodness this little beauty has been in the project bag for WAY too long. I have talked before about how the brioche cowl is a slow burn. My first attempt at the patterrn was started during Easter and finished around July. The minute I finished it, my darling friend Mrs S came to the door, she admired it and I knew then, in the way that all knitters do, it would look so much better on her. So in September it was her homemade birthday pressie. I made a large announcement at her birthday party, which was not very gracious. ‘Making this cowl felt like a lifelong commitment, I won’t be making another…unless it’s for me.’ I had already started mine actually, in tomato red and aqua, Sublime wool. I took it on our summer holiday and finished it this weekend!  It is cosy.  I know it will be a firm favourite for my winter wardrobe. But I need to look after it. I won’t be making a third any time soon.
