Last year, one of my more successful handmade pressies were the fingerless mitts I made using Tracy Todhunters brilliant pattern. Go and visit her blog here to download the pattern. Some good friends who received a pair have asked for a replacement this year, as they were worn so much they have worn out! So I have been making more.
Good quality yarn makes a big difference and a little bit of ribbon really finishes these mittens off. I have been enjoying the knitwear on the BBC programme – The Paradise and when I made these they really reminded me of Miss Audrey. There is nothing better than a useful Christmas present. Maybe this year I will make myself a pair.
