Keeping track in the New Year

Last year I decided that I had no idea how many things I had made in the course of twelve months. I used my project diary to note down each project. At the beginning of the year I even noted down when I began a project and when it finished. You can do this online using Ravelry but I didn’t seem to be able to do this reliably and the paper version worked much better for me.

If I am honest I feel a little bit embarrassed by the final total. Let’s just say it is over 80 items…. However in my defence there are some coasters, toys and cosies in the mix and not that many garments.

This year I think I will take a slower pace. During the holiday break I have been whittling down my ‘works-in-progress’ and enjoying this ripple granny stripe blanket. I have found it really useful to remember what I have made in each season. Worryingly my stash of yarn doesn’t seem to have diminished. I will continue with this recording this year, but will perhaps hope to make some larger long-term projects. Looking back over last year I hope you feel it has been a great one and do you have a really Happy New Year in 2014

  1. I’ve progressed to photographing all mine, but have had to buy new photo albums this year!

  2. I wrote mine down in a book last year and hit 36 so you are doing well. Jo x

  3. Wow – 80 projects, that’s a lot Emma. It made me wonder how many I’d made?? I hope you have a happy and crafty 2014 – I’ve enjoyed your blog throughout 2103, Lynne xx
