Endless Fun with the Endless Scarf

A couple of weeks ago when I went on a little yarn outing with my friend J we met the lovely Tracey Todhunter at Fibre and Clay. She was wearing a chic little grey twin-set and around her neck was a fantastic little scarf made in obviously beautiful yarn. It was the sort of scarf which as a knitter I felt compelled to go up and touch (a complete invasion of personal space in any other context, acceptable, I think in a yarn store). Anyway Tracy told me that it was a Moebius cowl and she had learnt how to knit in this interesting way from a video tutorial. The link is on her blog. I have to say I loved making this. I really enjoy it when I find a bit of a knitting challenge and if I am honest I cast on this project 6 times! I even emailed Tracy for advice on how many stitches. But as usual in the knitting community she was very generous and helped me out. At Fibre and Clay that day they were doing a workshop and the results look very beautiful. Now my scarf is not as beautiful as Tracy’s and as you can see when I took the photo it was a very sunny day so I didn’t need its warmth around my neck. But I know that later in the year it will be a staple in my wardrobe to brighten any dull day.

  1. Well done! I won’t tell you how many times I cast on the first time! I think the colour changes in yours are very subtle. Hope to see you again soon – especially if you are going to be so nice about my fashion choices!!!
    Happy knitting.
