Cutest Cupcake Baby Hat

There are some knitting patterns that just work. They are easy to knit, they are fun and comfortable, and parents are amused by when worn by their little baby. This little cupcake hat is a classic, I cannot count the number of cupcake hats I have made for friends but I am never disappointed by the results.

I made this one last week for new baby who arrived on Thursday. So easy. Now if you don’t know the work of Susan B Anderson, she is a complete hero of mine. Her blog is fab and it is great fun following her on her design journeys. I have all three of her design books, they are brilliant. This pattern is from Itty Bitty Nursery. If I was to write a knitting book I would definitely use the ring binding which is used for her books. It means that there is none of that annoying book closures just as you are getting to the crucial part of a pattern. All of her designs are fresh and modern with a lovely sense of humour. I go back to her books again and again when I am thinking about new baby arrivals or quick birthday gifts for little friends.
