Debbie Bliss Home – Some seriously stylish knitting kit

DBHome5

Ok, if you read this blog often you know I love Debbie Bliss, I love her style, I love her inspiration and having actually met her, she is genuinely one of the kindest and funniest people I know. I have now extended my sycophantic adoration to her daughter Nell…basically my husband is quite concerned that they may call me the ‘The Stalker’ in their office.

Anyway, ignoring this fact, a couple of months ago I gave you a quick preview of DB Headquarter’s new Homeware range – Love it.  The tea towels magnificently adorn my upcycled kitchen. This mug is my all time favourite mug. It brings a smile to my face everyday.

If you are a non-knitter, but love the look of a home knitted baby hat or bootees, now is your time to cheat. NO,  don’t do that!. Buy some utterly gorgeous Debbie Bliss baby wear from the online shop. Anyone who has ever admired a hand-knitted baby hat in a supermarket is probably staring a Debbie Bliss pattern right in the bonny face. New Mums will thank you for this very wonderful pressie – and you will look like you have the finger on the kinder fashion pulse.

When the shop went live last week I immediately made my order. First was the knitters apron. I quite like a pinny around the house – oh yes my friends – ’tis rock and roll down our way. The handy pocket is perfect for stashing phone, hanky, general bits of washing and balls of wool which you can store whilst you knit at the kitchen stove….(now THAT is multi tasking, as long as you keep away from angora – yuck! you don’t want to find those fibres in you risotto).

The genius of this pinny is that half of the text is upside down. It has an integral ruler and handy abbreviations dictionary. Why had we not thought of this before? I wore it all Saturday – I did match it with some bling pumps, but I couldn’t discard the practically of a pinny to stash the yarn and protect me from splashing passata.

Today I put into use my second purchase – the oh so gorgeous Harris Tweed project bag. So bonny. Look at the fab practical hole which allows you to work away and prevents your yarn rolling off to find the dustiest corners of the living room. This will be really excellent on a train. Many a time I have had to rescue an errant ball from between a strangers feet. No more!

So do pop by Debbie’s shop and buy, buy buy – there is actually knitting related stuff that I am happy to share, parade and give as gifts. Hurrah!

None of the Bliss family were hurt in this blog – I am genuinely a fan and customer,  if a little over enthusiastic.
