Jazzy Mittens

Back in December I took a day off to do a little bit of secret Christmas Shopping. It was one of those fabulous winter days. The sun was shining, the sky blue and a hard frost had coated the fields and trees in a white sprinkling of glittery ice. I had in my mind to take the opportunity to visit all those little shops/boutiques which I dare not take Little B into. They elicit a loud declaration of ‘I’m bored’ or his little arms might swing round and swipe a valued ceramic off a shelf. WATCH OUT !!!

Well I had been saving up a visit to the marvelous Fibre and Clay. This little emporium, is  beautifully arranged and the owners are so welcoming and knowledgeable. I had a lovely browse and picked up some more unusual purchases which I had not been able to find in my local yarn store. I also couldn’t resist the new sock yarn by Regia designed by Erika Knight. She is a superb designer, her work has simplicity, real style and is very wearable. This new yarn is such fun and I chose to make the fingerless gloves. These mittens were a slow burn for me over Christmas and I really enjoyed making them.

The great thing about sock yarn is that you can really appreciate the durability and elasticity. I keep trying to think of other things I want to make with the stash I have left over. Any suggestions?
