My little corner

When we moved into our house, eighteen months ago, the study really got left. At the top of the house it has the most amazing views across to the hills beyond, but making it serviceable was the only priority. Due to the encouragement of Big B, we decided that I really needed to make my own nest in this room. So slowly, very slowly we have been sorting through all the ‘stuff’ that gets accumulated. When I blogged about my lovely little cactus pin cushion, I promised that I would share how this project is going.

Well the most exciting aspect is the arrival of a new pin-board as a base for a mood board. I am thrilled with it. It came from the lovely people at ‘The Noticeboard Company‘. The quality is excellent and they were so friendly.

Also on the desk is a new rose-bowl vase. Now I am so delighted with this because it is one of my very few successful thrift finds. Thrifting is not a usual hobby for me, it is not that I don’t like it I am just not talented at it. If you want to see real skill in this area, you should pop into the blog of Tif at Dottie Angel. I work with colleagues who are stunning at it. At college we would go thrifting and I would never spot the very valuable Clarice Cliff teapot at the back of the shop. However this little beauty must have been calling to me and I am so pleased with it. Maybe my thrifting talent might grow?

  1. Hi Emma

I love your noticeboard! I too am in the midst of revititalising my ickle study space. I purchased one of those lovely noticeboards as a gift a few years ago. Now in the midst of trying to make my own space beautiful – I could not find the website. Only those nasty noticeboards we had in Hillhead Halls! Thanks to your beautiful blogging corner – I found the website once again. Hurrah!!! I’ve chosen a rather lovely cobble colour !!! I have a lovely wire heart noticeboard downstairs – it only allow beautiful things such as cards from friends, my children’s artwork etc on it. I feel the same destiny for my lovely new board too!!!

    1. Dear Jude,
I am so glad, they are such nice people and the only place I could find for something nice. You are right about Hillhead Halls. The funny thing is that all that orange is back in now!
Can you believe it. Have a lovely evening E xxx
