Hi, ok, I love this rocket & I thought it would take me about an hour to complete but I am completely stuck on the fire!! I’ve tried to make it about 7 times & each time it just hasn’t looked right. Please help, I’m following your instructions to the letter – what am I doing wrong??? Are your instructions correct? (sorry.) Please help! I want to cry with frustration!!!!
Dear Louisa,
How appauling, I am so sorry, for a start it should read YELLOW yarn and I have just worked the jet again and the mistake I can see is in row 3 where it should read 4sts instead of 5
as below.
R 3: 1ch (does not count as a dc) 1 dc in next 4 sts then chain st 2 sts, Turn
I will re-do the pattern and upload the reworked PDF. I am so dreadfully sorry. If you are still stuck I will do a photo tutorial, but would need to take photos tomorrow evening.
The most important thing to remember is that on some rows you are extending the length of the jet by making some chain sts. So sorry to mess up for you.

I love the Seaside Sweater that you designed for the Knitting Magazine 052 July 2008. The problem is I cannot find the pattern. The magazine is no longer available in back issues and no one seems to have a magazine to sell. Is there a way to get this pattern?
Thank you for your help,
fey
Hi Emma,
I just love to crochet (not knitting though). I am a complete beginner and have problems trying to understand the written instructions (eg 1CH, 1 DC in same place as last ss) It puts me off even before I can start the project! However, I find it much easier to understand the “picture chart” which shows the stitches. I am very keen to make a simple vest but haven’t found any magazine that shows picture charts on making a vest. Do you have any such designs?
Thanks very much in advance.
Dear Fatima, I know this is very frustrating. When it comes to garments the picture charts tend to be too big. I will have a look into it and see if I can find one. Have you tried Simply Crochet magazine? What I will do is have a look at my American books and see if that would be helpful. But thank you for leaving a comment.
