Summer Flowers

As I wondered in our garden this week, I was thinking, ‘We really need to get more summer colour in our garden, this cutting garden idea is really not going to happen unless I really spend some time planning what we should put in our borders’.

But then as I stood there I thought, ‘Actually these mad bright purples and oranges of the buddleia and crocosmia, pretty much sum up my favourite hot hues of mid-summer.’ I dashed in, grabbed a pair of scissors and rammed my pickings into the nearest jug.

The loveliest thing is that these blooms have been cheering our kitchen all week. What a happy happenstance!

  1. I have a similar jug on the go at the moment! No crocosmia unfortunately, but pink phlox and a couple of nice fat pink hydrangeas with my buddleia. Aren’t gardens great!
