The looking back at 2013

Well I do hope your New Year has been good so far. If you are living in the UK, you might have experienced storms and some power-cuts, I hope it hasn’t been too bad for you. I wasn’t planning to do a photo round up of 2013, but flicking through my yarn diary I was a little taken aback, I had literally forgotten some projects and the knitty amnesia prompted me to go back over the blog.

Ah how, I love this little space. This online diary is such a wonderful way to record a little slice of life, and often the yarn projects I include here remind me of the family things we were doing at the same time. I had planned to restrict myself to twelve little images in the montage above. Silly me. No, there was too much excitement in 2013.

Most years I use my yarn diary to dream dreams as well. It is great fun and I am constantly surprised and blessed by how many come true – apart from the perennial ‘lose a stone in weight’. This year we have had a lot of fun family time over the Christmas period and I haven’t taken time out to think about 2014. What I do know is that I will continue to track the projects I make. To start with I will also aim to keep track on how long each one takes to complete. This will certainly help with my commission estimation. I’m also going to make a list of books I would like to read and hopefully expand my cooking repertoire a bit.

The very odd thing about working on design projects is that the work goes on in secret and only on the agreed publication date can I do a big reveal here on the blog. That just means that I know I have a couple of juicy projects I can share with you in the Spring. What ever you are making or doing I hope you get time to dream some dreams and put the wheels in motion to help them come true. Thank you so much for popping by to visit this small space. I really do appreciate it. Emma x
