You have to feel sorry for him. Every time I make something for Big B, I think – ‘Oh I know I can share that on the blog… perhaps as a free pattern…’ I am dreadful at keeping my excitement from him. When I had finished My Foxy Valentine, I rushed into the study…
‘Look, what do you think?’
‘Ah, he’s cute… what’s he for?’
‘Valentines day…look you can put a little note in his tail’
‘That’s nice’
‘Yes….(proffers fox)….Happy Valentine’s Day!’
‘In mid January… as usual……………….you are funny!’
Funny, but not very surprising. Worst still I make a second attempt of creating a crocheted gift, but have run out of time and literally made it sitting next to him on the sofa. Well a potholder is practical and will get much use in the kitchen. But very pink and not totally surprising. I think I might go back to sending a traditional card. That will probably be so surprising, he might even wonder who it is from.
I love this tale Emma – happens here too! I had to tell my husband the motif for his Christmas card was a mistake – and he remembered! Ironically he doesn’t usually ask about things I am hooking – just that particular item!!
I’m also hastily re-thinking his valentine as I was too keen to show him my new idea!
Love the potholder..and Mr Foxy!
My husband would also wonder who a traditional card was from…..!
