Hey Foxy!

So here he is finally, Mr Foxy – or Wiggins to his friends. After a couple of months in hiding he is making his debut appearance in the new issue of Inside Crochet.

My Campervan doorstop is perhaps my most universally popular pattern, and I frequently get contacted via the blog to ask about it. I had a little discussion about this with Claire, the Editor of Inside Crochet and we cooked up an idea to create another doorstop pattern.

Woodland creatures; owls, foxes, badgers, little squirrels are all very popular design features at the moment. Mr Fox, was a natural choice.

The pattern used the Amigurumi style of crochet, which is very durable and I always start by making the arms and the ears first so you can incorporate them into the main body of the stitching. This gives the final piece durabilty. I used put a large yogurt pop lid in the base of the work to ensure a flat base and then put a kilo bag of rice in as ballast. You can then add polyester stuffing to give your character shape.

He is featured in Issue 41 and you can get digital subscriptions via www.pocketmags.com

This issue is totally fab and I will review it later in the week.
