In the last month I have become increasingly interested in crochet edges. Firstly they are very pretty. Secondly a little touch of colour and silky thread can transform an otherwise boring object.
There are several projects I have been working on that I just can’t share at the moment. (Tease!). However, I did this rather basic pattern on a really muted tone open weave throw and I love it. I feel a bit of an obsession coming on.
As the colder weather beds in, the blankets come out! How I love this blanket.
It represents hours of labour, a real determination to reduce my yarn stash, and it was a project I completed fairly early on in my crochet adventures. The pattern is by the very wonderful Alicia Paulson. Don’t look too closely – you will see how it is falling apart. But I have a fondness for this blanket because of its texture and because I continue to follow and love Alicia’s blog. It is the spirit of her creativity and joy in my house.
Oh, it’s just beautiful! And thank you so much for your kind words — I truly appreciate them. xo, a
