Magazine Update

marchmags14Well this month has been a little bit freakish – I have quite a few patterns in lots of my favourite Craft Magazines. So let’s have a wee gander.

k126.1

Firstly some new designs, which I have keep meaning to share with you. Metallics are very ‘in’ for summer – I created this very simple but effective jumper design using Crystal Palace ribbon yarn. It is in the Fashion Issue of Knitting Magazine – catch it while you can.

My friend Maggie was so delighted with this jumper when she spotted it in my home, she actually came straight out and asked if she could have it. She is a lady who is rocking her 60’s and she looks fabulous in this garment.

Lets Get Crafting magazine asked me if I could work some magic with their Spring yarn selection.

I returned to my crochet roots and created these little amigurumi fellas. How I manged to sneak them out of our house past the sticky mitts of Little B, I will never know.

A bird fanatic he pines for the little blue bird and the cheeky chick even now. I must say I love this aspect of my design work. Making something a little person can cradle and cherish in their hands makes my heart sing.

My darling friend Miss R alerted me the fact that I was in Simply Crochet magazine this month – I had no idea. They have kindly featured a pattern from my Crocheted Keyrings and Charms book.

Gardenshed

The Garden Shed pattern is one of my favourites. So I am glad they like it too.

Inside Crochet this month have also done a book exert from Teacozies 4. They have chosen the Shell Stripe Teacozy.

When I was visiting my dear friends Mr and Mrs J last week I was able to look at the original. I am telling you, that teacozy gets some love. Mrs J knows tea and she appreciates a decent cozy. She is my cozy muse.

Finally for my crochet enthusiasts, do see if you can find a copy of this magazine. Inside Crochet have published all their most popular patterns in a bookzine (get that jargon). There are some fab patterns in there. I have a few in my ‘must do’ queue.

I am lucky enough to have two patterns featured, Leighton Cardigan (love this pattern so much) and Foxy doorstop.

All this magazine business got a bit silly – in another part of my life I appeared in a monthly periodical – but I am afraid you don’t get to see that article – mostly because it has a photo of me and luckily you will never guess the publication.

    1. Yes – just updated the blog – post – pressed the wrong button too early….

  1. I nearly started that tea cozy this week – but tiny little flowers took my attention instead. I always try to make at least one new thing from each new mag I buy and strangely – they are often yours…spooky. You do get about 🙂

  2. Oh my goodness what an amazing array of crafts! Best of luck with the Manchester talk – hoping to drop by if I can but if not I’ll be sure to keep an eye on your blog. 🙂

  3. Wowza, You are such a talented lady! As a regular reader of a few of these magazines (never read a bookzine – sounds very modern!) I am very impressed. That little Garden shed is beautiful.

    1. Dear Julie, Thank you so much for your kind comment – what a nice thing to say and your blog is lovely x
