Cosy Croknit Blanket (PDF pattern)

I created this ‘Croknit’ blanket, a blanket that combines both knitting and crochet so that you can use both your yarn skills.

So many of my crafty friends enjoy collaborating on a joint blanket project but they don’t find many patterns that combine both skills. The blanket is a wonderful yarn celebration and is made up of 80 squares: 8 squares across and 10 rows down.

I have used Stylecraft Highland Heathers Aran for this pattern.

It contains instructions for both the knitted squares and the crochet squares. The edging is crocheted and there are suggestions for creating a crocheted join for your squares.

The pattern is written using English Knitting Crochet terms. There is a stitch diagram for the edging and a schematic to help you understand the placing of the squares.
