A month or so ago my friend J asked me to teach her to knit. We spent one evening together, as she got it immediately. She also has an eye for detail and is very happy to rip rows back if she sees a mistake, and this is a discipline which I took much longer to ‘get’. Well weeks later we met up again for another teaching session and she impressively brought her completed projects, which was fun.
So then we set about the basics of crochet, double, treble, increasing, decreasing, shell edging and crochet in rounds. For a first tutorial does that seem like a lot? Well there you go, my first ever student is a natural. If you have a yearning to do something creative or learn a new hobby, take a leaf out of J’s book. Write a list, set a timetable and just go ‘how do you do that? Impressive or what!
Wow! Well done J – looks like someone has a natural talent.
There’s nothing more satisfying than passing on your enthusiasm to someone else is there?
