Summer Holiday #2

So the second half of our week away was taken in the wonderful Lake District. I have talked about the Lakes previously I have also to confess it has a special place in my heart. We had the most glorious weather and camped right by the lake at Ullswater. Truly beautiful.

I am a fair-weather camper, I have done some serious camping for character improving reasons, but it is not my most favourite way to holiday. However in the sun, with two adventure boys, there is much to smile about. It was glorious. We rowed on the Lake – shockingly – laughed our heads off and relaxed in the sun.

There is nothing better than waking up under canvas for my little chap, he was in his element and quite happily took himself off to play with other kids and the campsite playground. Bliss.

We had a number of firsts for Little B, including climbing up some of a mountain, and we visited our favourite little village Grasmere. We love it there. I visited a lovely little shop, Herdy. If you have a knitting friend and would like to buy them a gift which is practical and has some style, then this shop is perfect for you. The company produce contemporary products which help support the Lake District and the Herdwick Sheep. Very cute.

You may wonder why I have not mentioned any hooky news recently. Well, the hook has been flying but on projects that I am afraid I cannot share with you yet. I hope next week I can share with you a couple of free patterns. Have a lovely week x
